Why bowl in a league?
League bowling is
the cornerstone of the bowling experience. Leagues consist of bowlers of all
ages and calibers, and run in a variety of different formats. Some leagues play
for cash, with money distributed at the end of the season, while some play on a
strictly social basis. Every Bowlerama centre has a bowling league that's just
right for you. Almost all bowling leagues are run on a handicapped basis,
meaning that everyone is equalized through bowling's unique handicapping system.
That means you'll be able to contribute to your team's progress right from day
one!
Specialty Leagues
We
also have special format leagues, where the prize money is used for more
creative endeavors. Some of our leagues have exotic end of season banquets,
going to Las Vegas or to a Northern Ontario resort, using the prize money paid
each week to fund the adventure. We also have "themed" leagues, with many of our
centres now offering "Have A Ball" leagues, featuring the new Toronto Maple Leaf
10 pin ball.
Winter and Mini Leagues
Winter leagues generally
run from September until May and take place once a week. We also have short
season summer leagues which run from the middle of May until the end of August.
As well, "mini" leagues are also offered at most centres. Mini leagues are
shorter season winter leagues which typically run for a 12 or 15 week period and
offer new bowlers a chance to "get a taste" of organized program bowling.
Talk to any of our helpful staff if you would like to join a Bowlerama
league. We also have openings for new leagues. Perhaps your company or social
group would like to get together on a regular basis for a great night out. We
have special programs for league bowlers at Bowlerama. Let us know what you're
